Past
Migrating to Canada from Italy in 1957, Mario Bassi began working immediately in the masonry business. His hard work and dedication quickly earned him a reputation in the industry for craftsmanship and reliability through nothing more than word of mouth.
As the demand for Mario’s talent and work ethic grew, in 1963 Bassi Construction was formed and Mario soon led his own group of craftsman taking on larger commercial projects without ever losing his attention to detail and commitment to quality.
It is these standards that were the building blocks for the solid foundation on which Bassi Construction rests today.
Present
Having joined Mario in 1989, sons John and Lino have now become president and vice-president, respectively, of Bassi Construction. As business continued to thrive, John and Lino expanded the scope of their work into other disciplines. “Our company started out doing strictly masonry but since my brother and I began working for the company sixteen years ago we have branched out into commercial fit-ups and renovations, general contracting on commercial projects, and exterior fit-up projects” says John Bassi.
“What sets us apart is our work ethic and the special relationships we have built with our regular clients over the past 40 years. Honour and commitment are the foundation of our business, an approach our father continues to teach us and that resonates as we develop with each and every client.”
Future
Bassi Construction has always traveled a road of modest growth and will continue to do so as it seeks out more challenging projects in the future while demonstrating its track record of reliable service. Now branched into four ever expanding divisions; Residential, Commercial, Restoration, and Masonry, Bassi Construction will continue to grow by reputation and word of mouth.
- Residential Projects include new construction, additions, and renovations.
- Commercial Projects include demolition, base building upgrades, tenant and landlord retrofits.
- Restoration Projects can range dramatically in complexity such as heritage stone restoration, re-pointing, structural demolition and repairs (i.e., parking garages, and balconies).
- Masonry Projects range from block foundations and partitions, brick and stonework for residential/commercial, as well as architectural landscaping such as interlock, retaining walls, and decorative details.
