Ontario Government Mandated Shut-Down for Most of Construction Amid COVID-19

The Ontario Government revised their definition of essential construction services and accordingly mandated the shut-down of most construction by end of day, April 4, 2020. This includes all of Bassi’s commercial sites and sub-grade residential work. Unfortunately, this includes the shut-down of a number of our projects.  In accordance with this order, we aim to have affected sites secured and shut down by end of day Monday, April 6, 2020.  We are communicating with all clients if their sites are affected.

Bassi is proud of the efforts we have made to continue operating our sites safely amidst the concerns of COVID-19 over the last month, and thank all of our clients, trades, and employees for their efforts.  For those sites that continue to operate, we will continue to be vigilant in ensuring that our employees and contractors work safely.

Your project manager will be reaching to you if your site is affected to discuss how we are securing your site, the impact of this delay, and how Bassi is here for you until this mandate is lifted.

We understand the importance of staying home in this pandemic, and the stress this may be causing on both your construction and regular operations. We look forward to working together again when sites reopen.
