Water Damage and How to Prevent It

One of the main reasons for water damage is due to weather. Severe snow and rainstorms and the lack of infrastructure are reasons homes cannot handle large amounts of water in short periods of time. With no where for the water to go, it gets backed up into homes and commercial building basements.

• Clean your gutters routinely and make sure your downspouts direct water away from your home.
• Test your sump pump regularly to make sure it’s working properly.
• Check for water leaks and fix them if necessary, this will prevent mold and mildew.
